Approval process
The first step is to fill out our Prospective Puppy Owner Questionnaire and e-mail it to jenny@jennyspups.net.  We will then contact you either by phone or e-mail to visit about the puppies we have available and the type of home you can provide for a dachshund puppy.  Please keep in mind that we ask a lot of questions because we care about our pups.  We don't require "perfection" in a prospective home, just an appropriate, loving enviroment for success in a placement.  We reserve the right to cancel any puppy sale for any reason. 
 
Deposit
Puppies are listed for sale until a deposit, usually 1/2 the purchase price, is received.  No puppies are held without paid deposit.  Deposits are non-refundable, so please be sure you intend to complete the purchase before placing a deposit on a puppy. 
 
Pick-up
Puppies are usually available to go to their new homes between 9-12 weeks of age, depending on the maturity of the litter.  Puppies not picked up within one week of availablity will be released for sale again and deposit will be forfeited unless arrangements are made for extended boarding.  Payment in full is required before puppy is released. 
 
We prefer to meet new puppy owners in person, however we realize that is not always possible.  In cases where shipping is approved, we like to use Get-M-Home Transport.  Please visit their website for additional information.  Air shipping (usually via American Airlines) is also available for actual costs, including but not limited to airline ticket, shipping crate, health certificate and gas.  We also must drive 2-3 hours to deliver your puppy to the airport, so although we don't charge you for our time, we do ask for your understanding; we have to schedule air shipping when we have the time available to make the trip.  You must be willing to work with our schedule!  Shipping can also be delayed in times of the year when temperatures are either too cold or too hot due to airline regulations. 
 
Payment methods
Jenny's Dachshunds accepts cash, USPS money orders, or personal checks.  Please note, however, due to a rise in NSF checks, personal checks will only be accepted as payment once funds have cleared the bank, which could delay the release of your puppy.  We do NOT accept bank cashiers checks or money orders from sources other than USPS.  Final payements when picking up your puppy are CASH ONLY!
 
Registration Papers
All of our puppies are sold on a strictly enforced spay/neuter contract unless arrangements are made prior to the sale.  If requested at the time of sale, AKC limited (non-breeding) registration application papers are mailed upon receipt of certificate of spay/neuter from a licenced veterinarian.  Certificate of spay/neuter must list puppy by name and AVID microchip number and will be verified with a call to your veterinarian's office.  Full AKC registration is available to approved homes only.  Please contact us in advance if you are interested in this option.  Price for a puppy with full AKC registration and show/breeding rights is considerably higher than for a "pet only" puppy and is determined on a case-by-case basis. 
 
Sales contract
Please read our puppy sales contract  carefully.  All puppies are sold with a signed sales contract to protect both Jenny's Dachshunds and the puppy buyer.  Please note, this contract is updated from time to time and is only provided here as a general reference.  You will be provided with the most updated version to sign when you decide to place a deposit on the puppy of your choice. 
 
Lifetime commitment
We do not knowingly sell to brokers, pet shops or puppy mills.  Puppies are sold to "forever homes" and are not for resale under any circumstances without written approval by Jenny's Dachshunds.  Before you make the decision to add a new puppy to your family, please read "How Could You?" and remember that a dog is a life-long commitment.  If at any time in the life of your  puppy you become unable to care for him, Jenny's Dachshunds will always take him back to help in locating a new home.  We never want any of our puppies to find themselves in a shelter or rescue.
