*A note on our puppy prices* Our puppies are not the most inexpensive dachshunds you will find available, but we believe you get what you pay for. We put the time and money into raising the very best doxie companions in regards to health, temperament, and conformation. With each puppy comes a lifetime of support and guidance. A dachshund can live 12 years or more. An investment in a quality puppy now will save you more in vet bills and heartache in the future. All puppies go to their new homes vet checked, up to date on shots, worming, AVID microchipped, and with a "New Puppy Pack" that includes all sorts of useful goodies such as treats, toys, a crate bed (also check out Lucien-a puppy from Jenny's Dachshunds!), a puppy collar and more! We are often asked the differences between males and females and which one would make a better pet. Our answer has always been that although there are, in general, small differences between the genders, it is much more important to pick out a puppy with the personality and temperament AS AN INDIVIDUAL that will fit with your home and family. Males and females both make wonderful family pets, so don't count out one or the other without looking beyond to see the individual puppy! Remember, males neutered before maturity often do not ever learn to lift their leg and are no harder to potty train than their female litter mates. If you have any questions about the temperament of a litter or an individual puppy, just ask and we can steer you in the right direction for your family!
Smooth coat or longhair?
What about the different coat types? Again, each puppy is an individual, but as a general rule, the longhaired doxies tend to be a bit more mellow and less high-strung than the smooths. Longhairs require only minimal grooming; a quick brushing once a week to keep the tangles out of the hair on their ears and tails is the only requirement for keeping up their coat. Dachshunds are not a high-shedding breed and this should not be a concern with either coat type. Brie's puppy arrived January 21, 2010!
This is Westley. He is the son of Brie and Thor and will be a handsome longhair black and tan adult. He has white toes on one rear foot and is a nice healthy boy who is getting all of him mama's attention. He is already a little cuddler and has the cutest expressions!
Westley is available and will be ready to go to his new home after nine weeks of age, around March 25, 2010! Pet price for Westley is $550. Penny's Litter Arrived January 27, 2010! All puppies from this litter are SOLD or pending deposit!
Introducing Penny's "Scooby Doo Litter"!!! Parents of this litter are Penny, our pretty chocolate and tan girl, and our clear cream boy Thor. Although both parents carry for piebald, by roll of the dice, we did not get any full piebald puppies in this litter, only possible carriers. All of the puppies will also carry chocolate from their mama and cream from their daddy! The Scooby Doo Litter will be ready to go to their new homes after nine weeks of age, around March 31, 2010! Contact us for deposit information and availablity! Jenny's Dachshunds reserves the right to pick of the litter to continue in our breeding program in the future. We do not sell to pet stores, brokers, puppy mills or re-sellers of any kind and reserve the right to refuse sale to any person for any reason if we feel the home will not be a good fit for one of our puppies. Fred's personality is not unlike the cartoon character he is named after...confident and ready to lead the way on daring adventures to "unmask the ghost" (lick your face), "execute a plan" (earn a treat) and "solve the mystery" (find the toy)!
Daphne is DEPOSIT RECEIVED. Congratulations Mary Jo and Tom! Daphne's new name is "Sadie"! She is a very pretty little longhair black and tan girl with little white toes on her hind feet. Her regal personality and good looks make her "queen of the puppy pen"!
Shaggy is DEPOSIT RECEIVED. Congratulations Joe and Katie! Shaggy's new name will be "Scout"! Shaggy is a handsome little longhair black and tan boy with not a spot of white anywhere! He is the little one of the litter, but with true doxie spunk, he holds his own with his brother and sisters! As you can see, Shaggy has perfected the art of the "puppy roll"! He loves to have his tummy scratched!!
Velma is DEPOSIT RECEIVED. Congratulations Michelle and Bill! Velma's new name will be "Maggie"! She is a pretty longhair girl with a cute little white stripe on her chest and white toes on her back feet. Never a dull moment with this little girl, Velma is playful and spunky like all good doxies should be!
